🧵 You will need

• Yarn BBB Full (100% extrafine merino wool; 90 m / 50 g):
  200 g (250 g) 300 g in lilac 💜 (pink 💗) + 50 g white 🤍
  +100 g for sleeves (for the sweater version)
• Needles: US 8 (5 mm) and US 10 (6 mm)
• Short circular needles US 8 (5 mm)

Do not rely on gauge — follow the measurements in centimeters.
Work according to the row counts.

Tubular Ribbing

Row 1 — K1, P1
Row 2 — knit the knit stitch, slip the purl stitch with yarn in front
⚠️ Slip the purl stitch from below to avoid twisting

Back

Cast on 104 (112) 118 sts using US 8 (5 mm) needles.
Work 3 cm of tubular ribbing (14 rows).

Row 15 — work all stitches k2tog → 53 (57) 61 sts

Row 16 — switch to US 10 (6 mm) needles and begin the “Chess” pattern.

Start of row depends on size:

• 2/3 years: 1 edge st, 2 garter sts, 7 repeats, 1 edge st
• 4/5 years: 1 edge st, 2 knit sts, 2 garter sts, 7 repeats, 2 knit sts, 1 edge st
• 6/7 years: 1 edge st, 5 knit sts, 2 garter sts, 7 repeats, 5 knit sts, 1 edge st

Row 5 — increase 1 st on each side → 55 (59) 63 sts

Work:

5/7 — slip the knits, purl the purls
8 — k2tog across
9 — bind off purlwise (loosely)

Sleeves (Sweater Version)

Pick up 52 (64) 76 sts in the round.

Work:

• 70 rounds stockinette
• Cuff:
  7 rounds knit
  6 rounds white 🤍
  7 rounds main color
• Bind off using tubular method from WS

Neckband

Pick up:

• 68 sts (sizes 2/3 and 4/5)
• 72 sts (size 6/7)

Work 8 rows as for armholes:

1 — all purl
2 — all knit + yo after each
3 — slip knits, twisted purl the yo
4/6 — knit knits, slip purls
5/7 — slip knits, purl purls
8 — k2tog across

Then:

• 13 rounds knit
• 6 rounds white 🤍
• 12 rounds main color
• Tubular bind-off from WS

✨ Finishing

You may adjust the length as desired — shorter, longer, or even turn it into a dress 👗
Length can be modified before the armholes by adding or removing pattern repeats (12 rows each).

Hand wash at max 40°C 💧
Roll in a towel to remove excess water and lay flat to dry.

Add decorative buttons if desired 🧸
